Amenhotep IV later named as Akhenaton ascended the throne possibly in 1351 or 1353 BCE in Egypt. Akhenaton chose this name to show his devotion for the single God named Aten. He in fact, demanded adoption of this new God by all the Egyptians and wanted them to abandon the old Gods and worship the sun God. And this is what i found the most important aspect of his reign that plays a major role in the development of the ancient Egyptian cultural identity. Akhenaton’s reign was consumed by this new religion and his conversion led to the birth of completely new religious philosophy.
